Accessibility
Built for every reader.
danielgonell.com is built to WCAG 2.1 AA standards, with AAA targeted where it can be met without compromising clarity. Accessibility is non-negotiable here — Daniel's credentials were built on WCAG-compliant work for disability councils, and the site has to lead by example.
What that means in practice on this site:
- Keyboard navigation across every interactive element.
- Visible focus states; no
outline: nonewithout a replacement ring. - Color contrast verified against WCAG ratios (Ink on Cream, Cream on Signature Blue, etc.).
- Alt text on all meaningful images; decorative imagery marked
aria-hidden. - Proper heading hierarchy (one
h1per page, no skipped levels). - Reduced-motion media query honored — no parallax, no autoplay video.
- Screen-reader live regions on form status messages.
- Skip-to-content link as the first focusable element on every page.
